Maybe I'm too old...

Interesting topic. First off, I'd like to say that while "glam" brought us all here in the first place, I think it's our love of music in general which keeps us here. The musical arguments are one of my favorite aspects on this board......and I've met some truly great friends on this board, even though my musical tastes are different than most. It doesn't matter. I hate Prog, and Carl hates what I love, but I love Carl's take on what he thinks. If we all loved the same thing it would be boring. Many of us have common interests in certain styles, but I don't think there is a band out there that everyone here loves, even like Ramones or HTM have a few detractors. I'm not a big Cheap Trick or EZN fan, but I think they both have some good stuff. Myself, I would consider myself more of a pop fan, than glam, but in a lot of cases they are the same, but I love and still listen to all the 80's stuff...even the hair bands....and yeah, I love Roxx Gang. I even really like a lot of Grunge bands. Of course it was in my back yard, and a lot of them were glam in the beginning, and evolved. I like a lot of the late 90's alternative stuff too. I never really know what I'll like, until I hear it, and sometimes it even takes awhile before I figure out that I like it.
That's why I alwayz give new stuff a chance, cuz ya never know. I would check out every link that Carl and Raggz, and everyone lese post if I didn't have such a slow pc, and shitty connection. I really can't hear anything without a 15-20 minute download and numerous skips and pauses. It's useless. That's the main reason I joined the glitzistaff to do reviews. There's no feeling in the world like discovering a new band. I remember the day I discovered Vain. I was heading out of town for a 6 hour road trip, and bought Vain and Don Dokken's solo album. I listened to Vain first, since they were new to me..loved it. Then Dokken, for a few songs, then decided I had to listen to Vain again....and again and again for the whole damn trip.....and on the way back too. I still listen to them, and every other 80's band proudly. Although I will say most 80's bands new stuff really ain't that good. I alternate with other stuff quite often, but I don't feel old. I also say, fuck it, listen to what you want to. I'd also like to say that I've enjoyed discovering Scritt Scrat and Andii's, Kari's, Ash's, and many other's music throught this site. I'm looking forward to hearing Billy's new stuff. Kiko's is great.

Stacey,I realized after I made my post that I had not added "no offense meant to Stacey". The post was not directed to you or any one person for that matter,I was merely expressing my thoughts as of late. I have attempted to add new things as have others but the truth is if you really watch closely the threads that get the most feedback are the same ol same ol's. Just my observarion,maybe its skewed,who knows. Anyway,irony being what it is ,I really have nothing new to add at this time as presently I'm listening to a Billy Idol C.D. so I'm being retro myself at this time. Carry on.
